We are so excited to be part of Gracefully Crafted this year. It was hosted by Grace Resources, a community non-profit dedicated to helping those in need with a touch of grace. We had about 30 vendor booths there, some for shopping, some for fun, and some for information. We saw a lot of great people come through and everyone had fun!
The music was great and family friendly and the DJ’s wife (I’m so sorry, I can’t remember her name) was an absolute character! She did the raffle drawings and made it so fun for everyone! The kids had a terrific time in the bounce house we provided and at the battle arena provided by Sgt V’s Battlegrounds. I don’t think it was ever empty. My girls gave it a try and the older one is dying to do it again! She tried to get me and her Great Aunt in there but we both declined. It was more fun to watch than run.
On a more personal note, I have never felt more welcomed by a group of people I did not yet know. My husband works at Grace Resources and he’s talked about me enough that when I got there, people found me and knew who I was. I felt like part of the family and it was a terrific feeling. We had three ladies from his class, LeJohn, Shannon, and Helen, and a volunteer, Nevia, helping blow up balloons and they were just the most delightful ladies you’d ever want to spend the day with! We laughed, we popped balloons, we traded stories, it was amazing. I can’t wait to do it again!
My only regret is all those big plans I had to take tons of pictures went by the wayside in the busyness of the day. It was so hectic that half the time I forgot I even had my phone. There are so many moments I wish I had captured. The ladies smiling, the kids giggling, my husband’s friend James laughing because we threatened to set up a kissing booth and stick him in there! It’s a fundraiser! You gotta do what you gotta do, right?
The raffle sales went pretty well, considering the size of the crowd and everyone seemed very pleased with their winnings. I know I’m delighted by mine!
Below is a sampling of the amazing prizes these wonderful people put together! I cannot express how thankful we are that they spent the time and trouble to make such beautiful things for us.
Ladies, gentlemen, we genuinely appreciate you and all you did to help make this fundraiser a success! Vendors, volunteers, visitors, all of you made this a terrific day and Grace Resources will be able to help a lot of people with the funds you raised. Thank you
I have to make a special mention of the watercolor by StuffByLisaPeas because that’s my sister (and I’m her biggest fan). Also, someone gets to unleash their inner mermaid with the prize from Becki’s Desert Pearls (that’s my mom, and she let me put it together).
Thank you so much for coming down and joining us for a terrific day of supporting our community and small business owners. We can’t wait to see you next time!
